Ladies Auxilliary

What They Do

Charter Date --- February 1st 1935.

Charter members were M.Allen, Doris Berry, M.Catterall, J.Drew, Alice French, E.Jenower, R.Gowland, C.Henderson, C.Martin, Carrie Mayne, E.Morley, and J Nickerson I.Pitchford, R.Sutherland and Miss N Ravenhill.

Meetings were held at the home of Carrie Mayne until the Branch found a suitable home. Unfortunately, due to a fire, many of the files were destroyed. In 1974 we moved into our new building where we are today. During the year the Ladies prepare lunches for visiting Bus tours, while the Branch provides a mini meat draw and entertainment. On the last Saturday of each month the Ladies have a bake table during the meat draw. When the Branch ends the summer barbecues the Ladies pick up with Friday Night Dinners. Bi Monthly Hospital visits; Strawberry Teas, Bazaars and Flea Markets are regular functions of the Ladies Auxiliary.

Each year-end depending on funds available, we make a donation to our Branch as well as supporting, by donation, various charitable organizations. Our Monthly meetings are held on the first Sunday of each month at 1.30 pm except July and August. As of December 31st 2001, our membership stands at 80 regular members and 5 life members.
